The Christmas Giving Tree

Share the love of Jesus with our neighbours through practical giving & prayer this Christmas!

Christmas is a season of generosity, hope, and celebrating the greatest gift of all—Jesus Christ. This year, we're inviting our church family to share His love with our neighbours by helping meet practical needs, offering encouragement, and praying for families in our community.

From November 15–December 6, visit the Christmas Giving Tree in the WMB foyer and choose a coloured tag representing one of three opportunities to give this Christmas. Each tag includes a specific need, instructions for returning your gift, and prayer prompts to help you intentionally pray for the individuals and families you're supporting.

How the Christmas Giving Tree Works

1. Choose a Tag

Visit the Christmas Giving Tree in the WMB foyer between November 15 and December 6. Each coloured tag represents a specific need from one of our three Christmas giving opportunities.

2. Provide the Gift

Follow the instructions on your tag to purchase or provide the requested item. Each tag includes details about what is needed and how to return it.

3. Return Your Gift

Bring your gift back to WMB by the return date indicated on your tag so it can be prepared and shared with the family or community you're supporting.

4. Remember Your Neighbours in Prayer

Giving is just one part of this opportunity! Each tag includes prayer prompts to help you pray intentionally for the people receiving these gifts. As you prepare your gift, take time to ask God to meet their needs, strengthen their families, and reveal His love and hope to them this Christmas.

Christmas Giving Tree Opportunities

A Christmas gift can be a meaningful reminder that someone cares. Through these opportunities, we want to do more than meet practical needs—we want to build relationships, encourage our neighbours, and reflect the love of Jesus in our community.

Adopt-a-Family

Help make Christmas a little brighter for a local family.

Through our partnership with Barnabas Ministries, we have the opportunity to come alongside local families who may be experiencing financial challenges or difficult circumstances this Christmas season.

By participating in Adopt-a-Family, you can help provide Christmas gifts, a turkey for Christmas dinner, or support toward other practical needs. It's a meaningful way to remind families in our community that they are seen, valued, and cared for.

How to participate:

  • Choose an Adopt-a-Family tag from the Christmas Giving Tree.

  • Follow the instructions on your tag to provide the requested gift or support.

  • Return your gift by the date indicated on your tag.

  • Pray for the family you're supporting, asking God to provide for their needs and fill their home with peace, joy, and hope this Christmas.

Neighbourhood Christmas Toy Store & Party

Help bring joy to children and families in our neighbourhood this Christmas!

Our Neighbourhood Christmas Toy Store & Party is an opportunity to connect with local families, build relationships, and share the love of Jesus through practical generosity and hospitality.

Through the Toy Store, parents can choose and purchase Christmas gifts for their children at affordable prices, allowing them to participate in the joy of selecting gifts for their own families.

Alongside the Toy Store, the Christmas Party provides an opportunity for families to gather, celebrate the season, and experience a welcoming community.

How to participate:

  • Choose a Toy Store tag from the Christmas Giving Tree. Each tag identifies an age group and gender to help guide your gift selection.

  • Purchase a new, unwrapped toy valued up to $80 that fits the description on your tag.

  • Return your toy by the date indicated on your tag.

  • Pray for the children and families who will attend, for meaningful relationships to develop, and for the love of Jesus to be experienced through this event.

Your generosity helps create a Christmas experience that offers more than gifts—it creates opportunities for connection, encouragement, and community.

Sandowne Public School Christmas Baskets

Share encouragement and practical support with families in our local school community.

Through our ongoing partnership with Sandowne Public School, we have the privilege of coming alongside students, families, and staff throughout the year.

This Christmas, we're helping provide Christmas baskets for families in the Sandowne community. These baskets are a simple, practical way to offer encouragement and help families with some of the extra expenses that often come during the holiday season.

How to participate:

  • Choose a Sandowne Christmas Basket tag from the Christmas Giving Tree.

  • Purchase both a $25 grocery gift card and a $10 Tim Hortons or Starbucks gift card.

  • Return both gift cards together by the date indicated on your tag.

  • Pray for the families receiving these baskets, for the students and staff at Sandowne, and for our ongoing relationship with the school to be a meaningful expression of Jesus' love in our neighbourhood.

Through this partnership, we hope to continue building relationships and finding ways to care for our neighbours throughout the year.
