Be the hands and feet of Jesus by serving those in our community who are experiencing poverty, displacement, or marginalization. Barnabas Ministries is how our church lives out local mission—coming alongside individuals and families through practical support, relationship-building, and long-term care. Opportunities to serve include one-on-one coaching to support holistic wellbeing, engaging with neighbours through Barnabas North Waterloo, and partnering with local organizations like Ray of Hope, Safe Families, and Compass Refugee Centre.

Capture and communicate the story of what God is doing in and through our church. Whether it's through photography, videography, graphic design, or podcasting, the Creative team helps bring visual and digital life to our Sunday services, mid-week ministries, and special events. From behind the lens to behind the scenes, your creative talents can inspire, inform, and invite others into the life of our church.

Help others grow in their faith by leading and equipping our church community. Whether facilitating a Home Group, coordinating discipleship courses, writing curriculum, or leading a Focus Group, you’ll play a vital role in guiding others toward deeper relationship with Jesus. These roles often involve leadership, teaching, administration, and pastoral care—helping people encounter God, engage in meaningful discussion, and build authentic community. If you have a heart for discipleship and spiritual growth, this ministry is a great place to serve!

Help keep our church buildings in top shape, both practically and aesthetically. The Facilities Team plays a vital role in maintaining and improving our church spaces, ensuring they are welcoming and functional. Roles include light-duty construction, painting, landscaping, small building projects, and general handyman tasks. If you enjoy working with your hands and taking pride in maintaining a well-kept environment, this team is a great place to serve.

Help create a warm and welcoming environment where everyone feels at home at WMB Church. Whether greeting people on Sunday mornings, serving coffee, ushering, prepping communion or assisting at the Hub, you’ll play a key role in making our church a place of belonging. Hospitality also extends beyond Sundays—serve on a meal team for conferences, discipleship courses, funerals, or church-wide BBQs, host new families for a meal, or provide food for new parents or those facing challenging seasons. Your kindness and service can make a lasting impact!

Help make our Sunday morning services accessible to a broader part of our church family by serving on the Interpretation Team. Volunteers provide live translation of worship services into Spanish or Farsi, helping to break language barriers so that everyone can fully engage in worship, teaching, and community life. If you're fluent in English and Spanish or Farsi and have a heart for inclusion, this is a powerful way to serve and support others in their faith journey.

Help kids discover who Jesus is and how much He loves them! In Kids Ministry, you’ll serve children from birth to Grade 5 through engaging, age-appropriate teaching, care, and fun. Opportunities include serving on Sunday mornings as a teacher or helper, supporting monthly family events like gym nights and Easter Jam, and helping with summer programs like Soccer Camp and Wumba Kids Camp. Whether you're holding babies, teaching, or organizing games, you’ll be making a lasting impact in the lives of kids and their families.

Be part of a team that seeks God’s presence and power through faithful prayer. The Prayer Ministry offers opportunities to pray with and for others—whether during Sunday services as a prayer usher, in focused intercessory prayer throughout the week, or through specialized times of deliverance prayer. If you have a heart to listen, encourage, and lift others up before God, this ministry offers a meaningful way to serve.

Serve and care for the seniors in our church community by offering practical support and building meaningful connections. In the Seniors Ministry, roles include providing rides to Sunday services, helping with grocery shopping, participating in a “Calling Tree” to check in regularly with seniors, and assisting in planning and running special events. Your involvement will bring encouragement, companionship, and tangible expression of God’s love to our seniors.

Support our worship gatherings from behind the scenes through audio, visual, and lighting technology. Whether you're mixing sound, running slides, operating cameras, or managing livestreams, your work helps create an environment where people can worship without distraction—both in person and online. This is a great ministry for those with technical skills and a heart to serve through excellence and creativity.

Help extend care and connection to those in our church family who are house-bound or living in care homes. As part of the Wellness Team, you’ll build meaningful relationships through regular visits, offering encouragement, prayer, and a personal touch. Whether you're visiting weekly, monthly, or somewhere in between, your presence offers friendship, support, and a tangible expression of God’s love.

Lead our church in glorifying God through music and song. Whether you’re a vocalist or instrumentalist, you’ll help create a meaningful worship experience that draws people into God’s presence. Worship team members serve regularly on Sunday mornings and at special events, working together to cultivate a spirit of praise and reflection. If you have musical gifts and a heart for leading others in worship, we’d love to have you on the team.

Invest in the next generation by building relationships with students in Grades 6–12 and helping them grow in their faith. As a youth leader, you'll participate in weekly Wednesday gatherings, guide small groups, join in serve nights and social events, and annual retreats through presence, mentorship, and fun.

Join a vibrant community of post-secondary students and young professionals (ages 18-30ish) who are seeking the Kingdom of God in the places they live, study, work, and play. In the Young Adults Ministry, you'll be part of a group that regularly meets in small gatherings to eat, worship, pray, study Scripture, and challenge one another to grow in Christlikeness. Roles could include leading small groups, hosting gatherings, and helping to organize monthly events. Your involvement will help build a supportive community where young adults can connect, grow, and live out their faith together.
