Members of the Church Council serve as spiritual leaders at WMB, helping guide our church under the leadership of Jesus. It’s a meaningful and weighty role—both exciting and humbling.
Church Council members are called to walk closely with Jesus and be led by the Holy Spirit, because spiritual leadership is different from any other kind of leadership. It isn’t just about skills or experience—it’s about being rooted in Christ (John 15:5), listening for His direction, and leading with spiritual wisdom and humility.
The Bible outlines key qualities for this kind of leadership in 1 Timothy 3:1–8 and Titus 1:6–9. Council members should show spiritual maturity, the ability to work well with others, and a willingness to serve with humility. They also need to be actively involved in the life of WMB and have the time and energy to contribute meaningfully to the team.
