KINGDOM COME | Fall 2025
Why This Reading Plan?
The heart behind this reading plan is Psalm 1 (The Message):
… you thrill to God’s Word,
you chew on Scripture day and night.
You’re a tree replanted in Eden,
bearing fresh fruit every month,
Never dropping a leaf,
always in blossom.
The readings reflect on what we talked about on Sunday, as an encouragement to “thrill and chew”. If you think the Spirit is often leading Sundays at WMB, then we probably can’t go far wrong by following Sunday with some more meditating.
The heart behind the accompanying note is to help see the day’s reading fresh and unfettered from any baggage or familiarity it may have accumulated for you. Maybe it will even spark some curiosity. Sometimes there’s a link to go further.
Reading different Bible translations is the next best thing to being conversant in ancient Greek and Hebrew. When the wording shifts between translations, it’s often because the original idea resists being squeezed neatly into one English sentence. That’s part of the richness. So the online readings link to different versions. Often the linked translations choose daily language. If the reading prompts you do dig deeper - great! You should definitely check out other translations.
The reading plan is available in printed form as part of the service notes each week (with a link to the online version below). The whole set is available online as they become available. The online version includes links to the reading passages in different versions and other resources.
